I think that Markus Zusak's "The Book Thief" was the best book of this year and the best book I have read. What do you all think?

The book thief was a great book. I enjoyed it very much. I have also read The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing and found it to be awfully boring and just a terrible read as far as maintaining one's interest. But some of other favorites--although some are much less serious than Book Thief--include Rash by Pete Hautman, King Dork by Frank Portman, Skin by Adrienne Maria Vrettos, and Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer.

I have heard that "The Book Thief" is wonderful, but I have also heard a lot of buzz about "The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing Volume 1: The Pox Party" by M. T. Anderson.

My personal favorite? A toss-up between "Ophelia" by Lisa Klein and "Reiffen's Choice" by S. C. Butler.
