I think the last el nino was '97, and they happen every ten years i think... Is that why we've had such warm weather here (cleveland)? and is that why the rocky mnt. have been hit so badly?

yes, but it is not a very strong el nino, the reason it has been so warm is because the artic air has been bottled up at the poles due to a zonal pattern across the us so far this winter....

There was an el nino i think in 2002. It's also due to global warming (CAUSED BY US!!! HINT, HINT!!!) sorry. Kinda lost it there.

la nina, was in 96. i think that we are going to get a weird winter, and could possibly see some snow t his year.
