Training, training, training, training.

I cannot stress it enough. The teachers know the business and have the best tips and stories to share. If there is a performing arts high school around, definetly go and audition. Being in a performing arts high school is ultimately the best move I have made. I have recieved scholarships, and been reccommended for some excellent opportunities.

Community theatre is also an excellent place to start. It's a way to build up a resume and learn about the performing world.

Ask your parents to call the Community Theatre in your city and ask them where you can take acting lessons.

You can also call the Professional Theater Company in your city and ask them the same question.

The YMCA may teach acting - call them.

Try signing up for classes at a local acting studio or maybe even a community college.
