I think my idea would really sell well. I have searched high and low and there is nothing like my idea on the market today.

I do not have the means to construct this new style of tree myself.

Would it be advisable for me to approach companies that make artificial Christmas trees directly about my idea? If so, can anyone point me in the direction of some companies? I would like use local (Australian) companies, but in their absence any company in the world would do.

I have heard (of course, this is only 'here-say') that large companies take ideas and make them there own. When a person contacts them with a new idea, they claim they were 'already working on that very idea' and then produce it themselves. If it is possible, find someone who can financially back you, or find someone you trust who *does* have the means to construct this new style of tree, and then have it patented!
Good luck!

Always patent your ideas before telling anyone, especially a manufacturer, about it.

Get the patten on it first so they don't steal it from you.
