It's hilarious to log onto answers.yahoo.com and see many nameless / faceless (need a choice of word for something less than people... fill in the blank), criticizing people of varied cultures and races, primarily Blacks. Outside of this electronic facade you would never have the courage to ask the silly little questions or make such blatant, derogatory statements. Many of those statements sound as though they are being made by snotty nose 12 year olds on mommy's and daddy's computer. What's sad is I'm sure many of you are much older.

If you are racist, show your faces and tell us who you are. I actually began showing mine after responding to the first lame, racist question/comment so that the cowards can see just who's responding to them. In fact, I think I'll go search for a close up.

Good luck. It's the false security of online anonymity that allows them to feel the "courage" to act that way. The great majority of them would never do it online if there was some chance their family, friends, or coworkers would find out they were actually like that.

And then there are those who feel a sense of control simply by getting a heated reaction from others.

Hey, disagree here although I'm very much and liberal and very much the first white the KKK would want to shoot.

That said, I never agree this idea of people's opinions require their identities. Just believe refute or accept statements as they stand.

You actually pointed out an advantage of internet. If you want to rebutt the real opinions of people, on the internet you can at least have the dialog. Every once in a while, you might get a victory.

I don't believe the idea that all racists are HOPELESSLY forever so. There is no "racist" gene. It may be ingrained in some people beyond repair but there may be others around who like Malcom X or HP LoveCraft can see the "light".

On the otherhand, if its in the shadows as a "dirty" secret, there is no hope to refuse it.

Cheers.

I am definitely not racist, but it's sad that your statement is so true. My 13 year old son had a racial comment made towards him on Y/A a couple of weeks ago. His exact words were, "Mom I thought this country became integrated a long time ago. Why do grown ups act worse than the kids at my middle school?" He's bi-racial, and gets more grief from adults than anybody else.

I completely agree. Racists are cowardly people with no self esteem or self confidence. That's why they try to prey on blacks, latinos, asians, whom they see as a minority. But they have a different thing coming, lol. As a black person, I aint afraid to tell them off when they make their little snotty remarks. They are just a sad group of ignorant and backward individuals. If you let them get to you, they feel like they have won, so denouncing them is the key.

The reason racial issues are never discussed in public is because blacks over react to every statement/question. You become violent at hearing any white person say the n word. Its irrational. Its only a word. Blacks absolutely hate the truth. There is no valid reason that 150 years after slavery has ended that the inner cities are still cesspools of ghetto mentality. You never address the fact that black men treat black women like crap and rarely take responsibility for their own actions and that 2/3 of all black children are born out of wedlock and the majority of convicts in this country are black. And after all that you still embrace rap culture which glorifies idiotic behavior.

I think things are getting better in general, twenty years ago I heard a lot more racism in public, nowadays it's pretty rare that I hear it. I agree that it's very cowardly the way many hide behind the anonymity of the online forum. Thankfully there are many more of us that aren't prejudiced than those who are.

Not all of them are cowards but most of them are, such as rich white suburban kids that act racist to try to look cool in front of their friends or are just plain ignorant, afraid of gettin their *** kicked by whatever race they're insulting.

A picture does nothing. People know your face but not who you are. Maybe put address and telephone number yourself.
