According to http://www.wwe.com/shows/newyearsrevolution/exclusives/triplehinjury Triple H might have torn his quad just like he did in 2001. At first I thought it was just for show, but when I read the name Dr. James Andrews (who was the surgeon for Triple H's first injury, and is the surgeon for most of the WWE wrestlers as well as other athletes) I knew that this was most likely the real thing. If he truly did tear his quad he will be out of action for at least 6 months. Also, this means that the Wrestlemania 23 main event will be Randy Orton-vs.-John Cena for the WWE Championship (which would be a great match) because the WWE was deciding on either Randy or Triple H or maybe have it a Triple Threat Match. Although this kind of injury is never good, at least now he will have time to spend with his family, which is something he was thinking of doing a couple of months back (meaning him taking time off). What do you think about all this?

Triple H's injury was most likely the reason why the match ended in a no contest and why Randy Orton didn't hit him with a chair (because no matter how many people think that this rivalry is real, it isn't and none of them want to see each other injured in real life).

That might be Harry A, but I doubt it because you never hear the name James Andrews without one of the wrestlers needing surgery in real life. If he was taking time off the WWE would have done something like Shawn Michaels turning on him and then them having a loser leaves Raw match or something.

You are right Donna, this isn't the way he should have to spend time with his family, but at least he will get to be closer to his daughter. You are right, most of the wrestlers think of each other as family, in fact on Randy Orton's website he once mentioned how much he owed Paul Levasque (Triple H) for the success in his career because it was Paul Levasque (Triple H) who told Vince and Stephanie that Randy was the real deal and that he should be pushed hard.

I didn't say that Orton-vs.-Cena will be the match at Wrestlemania 23, I meant to say it is most likely the match at Wrestlemania 23 because alot of people, including John Cena and Randy Orton, have been pushing for this match and rivalry to happen because they, like me, believe it will be a great rivalry. I think Randy Orton-vs.-John Cena for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 23 would be an awesome match!

Being Rude, I am sorry but no matter how little you tear your quad there is no way you can recover in one month.

You might be right Cruel Angel, it would be the best time for Shawn Michaels to take time off to have the surgery on his knees that he has needed for a while.

Good answer motleycrue! I was thinking the same thing in which Edge and Shawn Michaels faced each other in something like a steat fight and after Wrestlemania Shawn will take time off to get surgery on his knee.

Liki3331, I agree with you in some ereas, but I don't think Raw needs to make a move because Randy Orton and Edge can carry the load and this is the perfect time for Randy Orton to step into the main event again because alot of people wanted it. Also, alot of people have been happy with the way Orton and Edge are carrying themselves and their preformance in the ring. Also, this also means that Jeff Hardy will get a big push into main event status sooner (like after Wrestlemania 23) rather than later. Wrestlers like Randy Orton, Edge, and Jeff Hardy will make sure Raw stays competitive and enjoyable to watch, trust me.

I personally thought it was a fake injury for a little bit for many reasons. Triple could take some time off and film the movie that is in production, he could spend time with his daughter and stephanie, and it could finally be an excuse to end DX and let shawn go have his surgery. However, after looking into it, the match did end quickly after the injury just like last time it happened, and the same docter that worked on Hunter's Quad last time is the same one reporting on it this time. If it is indeed a serious injury then the WWE caught a break. Now Shawn can have his surgery, and DX can finally end. Now is the question of where does the company go from here. Cryme tyme will most likely win the titles from edge and orton very soon, so the tag team picture wont matter for rated RKO anymore. Also, i think that somehow the matches at wrestlemainia will be Cena vs Orton(which was already rumored) and Edge vs Shawn Michaels in a street fight. However this could turn out completely different if Shawn decided to go have surgery. Edge could turn on Orton causing rated RKO to split up and a match at the royal rumble. This would turn Orton face, and could possibly lead up to a Orton(face) vs Cena(face) vs Edge(heel) triple threat WWE championship match at wrestlemainia which i would have no objection to. Of course that probably wont happen, and Shawn will stick around until after Mainia but you never know in this buisness. And for Triple H, i wish him a quick recovery if it is a real injury.

DX is definitely the biggest draw that WWE has. With HHH potentially out for 6 months and HBK facing knee surgery, alot of shuffling is going to have to go on. I don't think Cena can carry the WWE through this. They will have to use Edge and Orton to and push some of their other talent to make up the difference. Jeff Hardy could step it up and be a key player. This might be a great time to focus attention to the tag teams. With a little work Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Hass, The Highlanders and Cade and Murdoch might really be an asset to the Company.
I hate to see any wrestler injured. I hope HHH will make the best of his time off and enjoy his time with his family.

All reports at the moment seem to be that Triple H's injury is not fake, and that the match was scheduled to end with a DeGeneration victory by Disqualification, thus leaving Edge and Orton the Tag Champs.
Of course, this could all be complete crap.
If it isn't, this doesn't mean that WM 23 will be Orton-Cena. I'm curious to see what WWE will do though.

If it was his left quad, there is a good chance he is done for good. He tore that in 2001 (and returned on Jan 7 2002 ironically enough) and that injury was career threatening as if he tore it again, he could lose most of the use in his leg (from the pic it was his right leg). If it was his right leg, depending on the severity of the tear, he could be put up to a year. I am hoping it is only a bad sprain or something like that.
As for what this means to WWE, all three brands are screwed. They will have to move someone (that has equal name recognition to Trips) to Raw to take his place and then some to the other brand to take the man moved to Raws place.

I guess this is the way that DX end.HHH tore his quad again and Shawn needs knee surgery, this will probably make a Cryme Tyme vs Rated RKO feud very fast.I hope HHH won't be out for good because he was one of the best wrestlers in the WWE and his new movie will be in jeopardy. This might be a good time for the newly signed stars to debut.Anyway,if Triple H can wrestle again, his debut will be awesome.

Quite possible... I thought it might be a legit injury too and them having to do some quick improv to finish out the match. However, I'll still hold out until I see word from some independent news sites for sure.
If HHH is out, then I hope they give Shawn the time off too so he can get his knee surgery finally taken care of. Far as I know, he never got it before DX reformed, and hasn't had the time off with DX going nonstop since then to get it done.
Besides, even though surgery and rehab would suck, it would be good for Hunter to have some time off to spend with Steph and Aurora.

HHH`s injury looked pretty legit when i saw it live. you could notice something was wrong because he kept limping and every move that he did after he favored his right quad, which made me believe that the injury was real. also how they scrambled to end the match after it happened.
i hate to see this happen to any wrestler especially HHH, i hope its not as severe as they say it is.
if he is out for a while (which i hope he isnt) then this would be a perfect time for a new member of dx, just to hold it down until ol trips can wrestle again

Sorry to hear HHH got hurt like that. I'd be willing to bet that's it for him. Wasn't he out nearly a year when he had the same injury the first time? He's not a kid anymore and he's going to take a long time to heal. I just don't see him being able to come back from this.
I know he'd never want to go out this way.
ADDED: They've posted a few pictures on wwe.com now of HHH. Pic 6 (the one where's he's sitting with his hand over his eyes) is heartbreaking.

This I didn't know about. But as you say, if Dr. James Andrews is being mentioned, it doesn't look good for HHH. I'm really sorry to hear about it. It's going to mean that, that quad is just going to get weaker and weaker with time and matches.
He definately needs time with his family, but not this way.
I imagine he'll be out closer to a year as it's his second injury of this type. Darn shame. I really like him.
And you're right, these guys don't like see someone get hurt. They're family.

This means he's got a year of rehab and it's going to be a little harder because he's five years older than when it happened the first time. I think at the time he felt he had something to prove. Now, he really doesn't have much left to prove in the business. Retirement's not out of the question. He's basically done all there is to do. It gives him a chance to spend time with the family (unless he just rehabs in Alabama like he did last time).
