looks like gm is grams in this case, a measure of mass. I'm not sure you can directly convert to measure of volume without knowing the density.

For example, 50 grams of chocolate and 50 grams of iron will have different volumes (space it takes up)

I think gm is really poor notation for gram.

Im guessing you are dealing with water. Its about 1 g/cc or 1g/ml.

50 grams divided by one gram per cubic centimeter yields 50 cubic centimeters. A cubic centimeter is the same as a milli-Liter.

If you are not dealing with water, then you need to know density before you can convert mass to volume.
