Most Democrats have their own and different view on the issues. They are not like Most Republicans where they are told what their views are by people like Rush Limbaugh.

I have Been a Dem my whole life, I believe that if the crime fits then use the appropriate punishment. I do believe in the Death penalty and yes I am pro-choice, I am not saying I could or would abort, but I want that choice for me and my Daughters

There are probably Democrats with both points of view, but it is generally considered that they are against the death penalty.

Surprising that the religious right supports pro-death penalty Republicans when the ultimate judgement of life belongs to God . It would seem that supporting execution is the devils way.

Democrats are usually against it. As for the religous right being pro-death penalty it is simple, they want the guy to see God immediately for his judegement. As for calling the death penalty immoral, is well, immoral. And if it is 100 guilty murdering pedofiles against 1 innocent guy, I am okie with that. Hell, I would volunteer my own life if it meant getting 100 of these monsters off the streets. I know what I am willing to kill for and it is the same principles I am willing to die for.

I'm from Illinois. Gov. George Ryan, corrupt as he was, did manage to end the death penalty. That is good! (Note: I'm a dem...see user name) Before he ended it, 15 people who were innocent were killed on death row. That is unacceptable, and that is my stance.

The death penalty is immoral because even if we execute 100 persons that are as guilty as sin, the price of we as a society pay for executing one innocent person is too high....and God knows we have.

what does dem or rep. have to do with it.. I am dem and I am all for "kill and be killed"..except today it's "torture someone and stay on death row for 40 years". My mom is dem and she is against it... I lost a fiance to murder and his murderer got 2 years (or less).. I am all for God doing the punishing but in the Bible, it was "eye for an eye"..
