There are many species of birdeating spiders, eg. The Goliath Spider and the Mavis Queensland Spider. I cannot unfortunately tell you how many different species there are though:-/

There really is no way to answer this question. The
spiders usually called "bird-eating spiders" are
tarantulas of one kind or another. However, almost any kind of spider that is large enough, or
has a web strong enough to let it catch a bird may
eat one. Spiders are mostly opportunistic feeders. If they can overpower it they will eat it,
for the most part, though some are specialists.
Even a spider as small as the black widow has been known, because of the strength of its web, to be able to catch and kill such things as small]snakes and mice. Other kinds of spiders have been seen eating lizards, frogs or fish. Normally
only the larger spiders are able to catch such
animals, just because of the difference in size and
strength.

RE: How to do away with spiders (quite a lot of species) in and round dwelling? I simply moved into the again part of a apartment and I've spotted plenty spiders across the home windows and backyard. Is there any useful way to do away with them (as opposed to fumigating)? Not certain in the event that they make notably spider traps. Any data is preferred - thank you.

There are several species. The spiders are common to upper Queensland and the Northern Territory. There are at least 4 kinds of the species found here.
