I work at walmart and there was one guy who was looking for something and I told him I didnt know where it was since it was my first day. So I said,"Hm, well, today's my first day and I will try to help you. Then he goes, "Well, the store could have opened yesterday."

Because they are dumb/rude/insecure/having a bad day and want to take it out on someone/think they are funny when they aren't.

I used to work as a cashier, then stopped and did stocking. Much less customer interaction. Used to work at walmart too. Got sick of being abused by the jerky night managers and worked at Target. Much nicer company to work for.

Because they are insecure and feel they can get away with being sh*tty to those offering customer service. I feel your pain. Where I work, they remodeled and changed everything around, even the isle numbers. Ive been there for 5 years and dont know where a damn thing is. I get the same crap from customers.

people carry their baggage with them where ever they go...they don't leave their rotten personalities or their toothache at the door as they enter your WalMart...sounds like this cat was having a bad day, and wanted to make himself feel better by trying to wipe his feet on someone else.

you can't control how other folks act. look around you...all the mayhem and lunacy from every side...all you can do is control your REACTION to the actions of others...

Zen teaching story: 2 monks were walking along the banks of a wide, shallow river when they came upon a young woman who obviously wanted to cross, but was afraid of the water. the eldest monk walked over, introduced himself, then put the woman on his back, carried her across the water, accepted her alms in payment, bowed and went his way.

days later, the yonger monk finally spoke: "We are sworn to never touch women, and yet you carried that woman across that river. can you explain yourself?"

the old man smiled. "I carried her across the river for just a moment...you have carried her in your heart for days..."

that rude person hs probably forgotten all about you. don't you think it's time to forget them and move on? your work in retail will put you before many different types of people...some in a rush, some angry at their spouse, some in pain...and, let's face it, some who are just mean. it comes with the territory.

move on.

Don't they have signs above the isles?
Anyway, sometimes they just feel pissed for no reason, we don't know why we do it, you obviously need to lift some wieghts, then we would leave you alone.

On the contrary, customers don't get smart for no reason, they get stupid for no reason.
