here's 3 larger projects i've worked on during college

1. Typical database project: Job search website, where u have different ppl log in as employers posting job descriptions or job seekers searching through the job list.

2. Smart Home system. This could have been very fun with real hardware, but we ran out of time so we had to simulate the hardware. Basically plan out a house rigged with gadgets controllable from a PDA, including lights, heater/air conditioner, sprinklers, garage doors, security system, etc...

3. 3D world simulation. It's a virtual world u can walk in. Involved messing a lot with graphics, but very fun. The end result looked like a first-person shooter game minus the guns and enemies, but had all the strafing, jumping (fun with physics) and crouching functions.

P.S. I have no idea what UNR is, or stands for.

In my Computer Science COURSE (University of South Australia) the first few Projects were- databases.

Typically, an Employee, Wages, Overtime, Tax database.

Building and maintaining a database in a language like Java helps you appreciate the work a real Database does "Behind the Scenes".
