Weight Watchers!!

There is no diet on this earth that has fast results!!! If you lose weight quickly, it means that you are not eating enough to stay healthy, and your body will go into 'starvation mode.' That is where your fat reserves go into overload and you end up putting on weight. Diets simply do not work! They may have an effect in the short term, but never in the long term. It is all about re-programming yourself to eat properly. Alot of what DirtyD told you is about right, and there was an elment of sense in what Katie said.
Paul McKenna has the right attitude about food and eating. He has had a book published called 'I can make you thin.' I really recommend it. It is only £7.99 and there is a c.d included with it. It has worked for me and many of my family and friends. Another good tool to combine with this method would be to check out the following website, it gives you an idea of your calorie intake, and what you should be eating. Plus it gives you the means to keep a check on your day to day progress. It really does help!

I spent 4 years trying all these 'miracle diets' and none of them seemed to work for me on a long term basis. Last year it became obvious to me that the quickest way to get down to a healthy weight, was to eat sensibly and exercise! I did just that and I've lost over 5 stone in 12 months. Loosing the weight has changed my life, and best of all, i feel amazing, inside and out. Dieting is a short term fix, whereas changes to your lifestyle and your attitudes towards food, are lifetime improvements. Make a diary of your eating habits and every time you eat something you know you shouldn't, try and note down how your body felt afterwards (eg; lethargic, bloated...) Then do the same when you eat foods that are good for you. Once you learn to understand why these foods are bad for you, as a pose to somebody telling you why, you will start to avoid them in the first place. This is how you make long term changes. Best of all, it's effortless and becomes second nature, instead of a day to day battle with the fridge! Good luck!!!

I haven't tried anything but Weight Watchers and when I did I lost 10 lbs in 1 week, along with exercise.

The best thing to do is watch calories and exercise. You don't need to pay for any of those diet programs. It's simple math. Your body needs a certain amount of calories to maintain it's current weight. If you go over that you'll gain; if you go under you'll lose. So the best thing to do is lower your daily calories a little below what you need to maintain your weight and also exercise to help burn them off.

Keep in mind though that if you exercise you will be able to eat more calories a day than if you don't. Also if you weight train and replace fat with muscle (muscle weighs more than fat) you may not see the exact loss on the scale. You will see it in the mirror though.

The trick to success is eating foods that are high in protein and vitamins. Good foods keep you satisfied longer so you don't need to eat as often. If you eat junk (high calories with no nutritional value a.k.a "empty calories") then you'll go through your daily calories very fast and you'll be left very hungry and wanting to eat more.

Use this calorie calculator to figure out what you should be doing.
