Just a colloquialism meaning "Believe what I am saying" , or "What I am saying is true".
Funny, I never thought of it before, don't know when it started, always just seemed to have heard and used it. Now you've got me curious !

It isn't one of my favorite expressions. It just means believe in what I am saying, because I really believe it.

Believe you, as in "Believe Chekayao" given as a command. Almost like saying "Damn you" or "Out you" when telling somebody to leave.
