America will ultimately lose this war ... not because I am a traitor or a pessimist (because I am not affecting the outcome of such a great effort).
But! The reason we will lose is because to truly effect longterm change, the majority of the people must want change. Their hearts and minds must "buy into" the new country. What America is trying to do appears to be a simple change of government, but a government is ALWAYS reflective of the culture.
America will have to guard and protect Iraq ... the moment it leaves, it will fall, just as Vietnam fell to the Communists.
This is what I feel, which may not be what you choose to believe ... and that's fine. We're all entitled to our opinions. I'm not trying to stop this war nor do I promote it ... I'm just observing what I see and what I see is embarrassing chaos, lack of direction, lack of preparation, confusing information ... how does anyone or anything make and reach a goal with so much uncertainty? Let's not wear rose-colored glasses ...

Listen very carefully because even liberal ,elected Democrats understand ........... The war in Iraq is not illegal.
To be illegal it would of had to of been a secret - hidden from Congress and never voted on the US Constitution calls for.
Senator Joe Biden contended Congress was constitutionally powerless to second-guess Bush's military strategy because lawmakers had voted to authorize the commander in chief to wage war.
Congress - both the House and the Senate voted and gave the president of the United States the authority to deploy troops to Iraq. Please read a book or do some research on the Internet and understand how the government works before babbling off and looking like a child.......

There is so much wrong with that entire statement I really dont know where to begin. First, the war is not illegal, the guidelines set forth in the War Powers Act ( strangely an unconstitutional act itself, but that is for another time) were clearly met, we are not governed by any international law that our Senate does not approve, and then most certainly they can change there minds. Secondly, you need to understand, that despite what you want to believe, President Bush wants this war to end, its a political nightmare for him, and their are clearly defined objectives, stabalize Iraq and then withdraw, end of story. You are most certainly incorrect in your interpretation of the word genocide, very few of the native peoples of Iraq have been killed by American Soldiers, most have been killed by their fellow Iraqi's, not to mention the native people make up about five different sects. The root of the problem comes from the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, the oppressed Shia majority realizes they have great power, and the Sunni's dont want to give up what they have controlled for so long. To say our invasion did not cause the instability in Iraq today would be a false statement, and, our mishandling directly following the invasion certainly set off tensions in the country, but the fault of the matter really lies with the Iraqis themeselves they have had every opportunity to end the violence in there country and have failed to do so, not by the failure of a few, but by the failure of many. Genocide is the direct slaughter of people who are of a particular ethnic group just because they are of a particular ethnic group, the people who American / Iraqi government forces are killing, are in armed resistance of the government, they have every right in the world to kill them to the man, yet they do not do so.
Who really wants to see photos of dead U.S. soldiers?? Personally I dont really want to, but they are not forbidden, we have the right to see them if you so desire to, but it certainly is frowned upon. It isnt as if people in the U.S. dont know that U.S. soldiers are dying.

Liberals like you who distort the facts on Iraq, then bury your head in the sand and ignore the problem.
The war will end in Iraq when they can defend themselves. There are quite a few areas where they are already taking charge.
The mission is to get Iraq on their feet, not stop every terrorist attack. I watched Rumsfeld say this.
As far as I am concerned, you are nothing more than a traitor. You give aid and comfort to the enemy by trying to undermine our war efforts against our enemies. People like you would have been executed during WWII.

It turned right into a NATO action which become approved by way of the U.N. in spite of the undeniable fact that the U.S. presented the logistics, did not go into the country with its forces, and is needed by way of the NATO settlement to take section contained in the action. Britain and France took out Quadaffi's kit and forces. The U.S. presented kit and ships stationed off the Libyan coast to help.

You want to see pics of dead American soldier(s)...go to this site and view the video of the following: www.Iraqwarvideos.com
Warning: This video contains VERY GRAPHIC images. The deceased individual in this video is reported to to be Cpl. Jeff Boskovitch, USMC of North Royalton, Ohio in August 2005. The video itself is shaky, and has a lot of terrorist singing, and the usual "allah akbar". In this video, 6 US Marines were killed, and their ammo, weapons, and personal belongings were stripped and showed off for the video.

You have no conception of what evil is.
The Nazi death camps were evil incarnate.
The current insurgency (not the war itself) is evil. Most of the U.S. troops are not killing for the sheer joy of killing. The insurgents are evil.
It would be more evil to withdraw now and leave the country in the hands of the monsters.

What about the evil stuff going on here? All the rapes, the murders, etc. What do you have to say about that stuff? Or are you numb to it and are only aware of what people in other nations are suffering.
