I wouldn't say that its BAD for you, but you should know that it can be a difficult place for healing.

I had my cartilage pierced about 6 years ago, and it never did heal up right. So, after about 1 1/2 years, I removed my loop and let it grow up. (It would get better, then if I slept on it very much it would be VERY sore. Infection was never a problem, just really uncomfortable)

This may not be typical, but I know several people who have had it done and had problems with the comfort level. (And yes, all of them kept it cleaned) On the other hand, I know several who have the piercing and have had no problems at all.

It's no different than any other piercing. Just remember to keep any new piercing clean by following your piercer's instructions.

I'm a nurse and no it's fine I have this piercing. It takes longer to heal, but it is so worth it.

I had mine done since 1997 and have had no problems with mine so I would say the only problem is who you get it done by and with what

if it was bad for you many people wouldn't have gotten their ear pierced

i got mine pierced years ago, didn't even hurt as much as the lobe and was fine...sleeping on it kind of irritated me though.

No, but it is difficult to heal sometimes.
