Ok. There's a little cafe in Weirton, W.Va., called The Old Scalehouse. They serve a hot dog that sounds kind of disgusting but is the best sandwich I've ever had. It is served on a toasted bun with grilled onions, shredded cheddar cheese and mayo. (Had it once without the mayo and it was ruined.) It's served with chips and a pickle, but they don't matter. The sandwich carries it.

Panini's in Berkeley CA - YUMM! They put all fresh ingredients, and some have goat cheese, some have pears, some are toasted... but every one I've ever had there was the best ever!

Second best - Genova deli in Oakland around 51st and telegraph. Nothing special as far as I can tell, but the taste is really good.
Oh, Zarri's deli in Albany, CA too. Those guys are great! I think the gourmet mayonnaise makes a big difference.

A club sandwich from Pam's. It has ham, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and is served with chips and a pickle all on toasted bread. And it is only $5.00. Very good and filling for lunch. Think I will have that for lunch tomorrow.

At a little cafe in PawPaw, Michigan,( made from an old train car .) The guy scoops fresh ground beef from a bin onto a grill....thick, juicy, just right...fresh big bun...all the fixin's the way you tell him. So fresh...so good! One of a kind place in the 80's...wonder if it's still there..

A great small Italian place in Fort Lauderdale makes the BEST subs -- my fav is turkey -- because of some topping they put on 'em! It's some kind of parmesean-garlic-pepper mix. Whatever the heck it is, it's GOOD. Better than the average sandwhich!

A mufletta in New Orleans. I know I misspelled this, anyway it was great. It had that kind of bread, ham, salami, chopped veggies such as olives in an olive oil. I wish I had one now. It was at a deli downtown. I hope hurricane Katrina didn't get it.
