monkey are not dormant. because if they were they could not survive in the wild. and why would you ask that? is your monkey dormant if so well, l hate to be the one to tell you this , but your monkey is dead.

they get eaten by scavengers like buzzerds or vultures ,hyenas and bugs ,
nothing in nature lies around rotting for long .too many hungry other life forms around
