I've been taking lisinopril for HBP for a year now. In the beginning, I'd have a dry, tickling cough, which was barely noticeable. My doctor mentioned this to me when he prescribed it. There was also a period where I'd get lightheaded when standing up quickly. My doctor temporarily adjusted my dosing and the problem went away quickly. Finally, an issue I've had lately is decreased libido. I'm not sure it's caused by the medication itself, but "decreased sexual ability" is listed as one of the potential symptoms. But, on the flipside, when having sex, I'm able to continue longer without getting tired. So, all in all, there have been no serious side effects to taking lisinopril. I'd suggest monitoring your blood pressure regularly after starting the medication. Also, note that it might take a couple weeks for lisinopril to show any significant effect, so don't quit and restart it often. Finally, if you were curious, most Wal-Mart pharmacies (along with others) sell a 30-day supply of lisinopril tablets for only $4. That's a big benefit!

I don't know of any major side effects. You may want to ask a pharmacist about that one.
When I first started taking it, I would get a persistent, dry cough whenever I got nervous about anything. It wore off after about a month. The doctor told me that is a fairly common side effect. Otherwise, I haven't had any problems and have been taking it for years.
