If you can't get the inspiration to even pick a subject then I really can't see much point in trying to write an inspirational book on any other topic.

I feel the best stories are the ones written from the heart. Look at your history and find the one thing that is the most inspirational to you. It could be the aunt who raised her four siblings when they were all orphaned, it could be the struggle of a tiny kitten trying to survive and finding its home with you and the big fat dog that likes to mother it. Most importantly, make your story relatable. They say that an author should start the story on the worst day of their character's life. Perhaps you can start it on the best day, then the next chapter go back in time and recount the struggles and heartache that was endured to get to that best day. Good luck!

I do have an idea, but I don't know if it's really what you're looking for. I have recently lost my Son to cancer. The ONLY thing that comforts me is researching the near death experience. It has brought me a lot closer to God and the afterlife. If you do a search for the subject, you may find it to be very interesting and inspiring. I look at life and death in a new way.

A positive attitude can make all the difference in any situation. Maybe you could write about maintaining a positive mindset. Techniques, tricks, strategies, proven methods, etc.

If you can't be an inspiration to yourself, how are you supposed to be an inspiration to others?

well just incorporate all of the little things that you think about and work them into a coherent story......people will relate to your humanity if you are able to clearly articulate it, don't be too broad, when describing things and don't be corny!!! nobody likes that.
