The Mendelian laws are laws of genetics first proposed by Gregor Mendel. They are:

1. The Theory of Segregation: Before dividing, sex cells have pairs of genes on pairs of dupilcated chromosomes. During duplication (meiosis), the two genes in each pair are separated from each other, so they end up in different gametes (sex cells).

2. The Theory of Independent Assortment: At the end of meiosis (duplication), genes on pairs of similar chromosomes end up in a gamete independently of other genes.

Hi,

Mendelian law of inheritance is a set of primary laws relating to the transmission of hereditary characteristics from one parent to their children and underlines much of genetics. These were derived by Gregor Mendel. Mendel had two main laws: laws of segregation and independant assortment.
