I live in Québec, in abitibi up in the north and we used to have around 3-4 feet of snow each year and this year we got almost nothing... It's weird and nobody can really explain why.. does someone have an idea. Thanks

The long and short of it can always be traced back to global warming. It's happening every day, every hour, every minute, and every second. Of course we won't see it, nor will the world for at least 1000 years, but, it's getting worse. The bigger factor is we're having an EL NINO year. In layman's terms this just means that the overall climate of the earth is shifting dramatically. The air above the ocean and the ocean itself become warmer because the trade winds are being pushed further east; towards us. I'm in NY, so we've been having 65 degree days. Now because this happening, the cold air is being displaced and pushed westward...towards the mid-west and places on the west coast. Check it out anywhere.

So, that's basically it. The whole "El Nino" phenomenon occurs every 5 years.

Ask me again at the end of February...if we don't get snow here by then, then we're not gonna get it.
