I'm not sure about fat but they can get calcium straight from your bones. Maybe you should take some vitamins if you are worried the baby isn't getting enough nutrients.

I had that question for my midwife once too. Pretty much she told me, the baby will be nurished, however it won't be the proper amount that it needs. And (you mentioned not having an appitite, my problem was not keeping anything down) the best way to go is to eat something small (I've taken to apples and bananas), every half hour. Even if you're not hungry. It's better safe then sorry, you know. Good luck. :)

I am a bit over 7mo and my eating habits have declined dramatically. I can eat one meal in the morning and it will carry me the whole day. My MD said the baby is healthy but suggested fruit juice, or chocolate milk (1-2 glasses) through out the day along with lots of water or other fluids. Happy Pregnacy

Sadly yes. With both my pregnancies I was very sick during the first trimester and lost weight, both my kids were healthy normal wieght at birth. As a nurse once told when I could keep nothing down, " babies are like parasites, they will take what they need from your body!" How true it is!
Feel better and try small meals through out the day, i found as I got bigger my stomach got small and pushed up adn small meals went down easier with less heartburn and less felling stuffed.

Yes-your body has nutrients and fat stored up and yes it gives the baby what it needs even if you eat hardly anything. At least try to get the prenatel vitamins in though because you really need that for your baby!

Yes and No mostly he is depleting your vitamin and mineral resources thus reducing your bodies abitlity to fight off illness and injury. If you are losing weight then its from not eating as much as you used to. If you have low appetite then make sure what you do eat is really good healthy food.

Try to eat, but don't worry too much. I lost alot of weight in the last trimester and my midwife wasn't worried at all. And my baby was fine!
