Are you talking about the origins? I didn't go through them all, but Anti-Pink and argentina got them right more or less. There are Egyptian writing on the pyramids and Sphinx that has people playing a game with sticks and a ball of some sort. The natives had lacrosse way before the land was taken over by Europeans so they obviously had a very early version of it. And even when the British first occupied Maritimes, they had a game with sticks and an object (not necessarily a ball). It's only when the land and territory were established that Canadians started playing it on the ice with skates. So, in a way, yeah, hockey isn't Canadian. We didn't exactly rip it off the Egyptians (as it was only discovered not too long ago), but we did make our own winter version out of it out of lacrosse.

you people should say Ice Hockey ,

hockey to us is a land game with a ball,on a field.
In the Netherlands this is very popular but it is mostly played by girls .

the Indians played Lacrosse, but i dont really find lacrosse similar to hockey, the ball is played of the ground

it is likely that, the Canadians invented Ice hockey ,because they got a lot of ice ,and a lot of wild people,

Holland used to have a lot of ice on the cannals and even some rivers ,.
people were already skating on iron blades in the 16th century but i have never heard of them playing ice hockey

And a 17th century dutch game was with a stick with a copper hook that hit a big rubber ball around ,(from the new rubber trade with Indonesia)called Kolf.but it is more likely that this was the grandfather of golf.

Actually Hockey and Lacrosse are not derived from the same game.

Lacrosse is actually our national sport invented by the Indians.

It's very Canadian. We have a OHL team in my town. And mostly all of the guys are from Canada, with a few from europe and like two from the USA. So it's very canadain. Y'all live and breathe hockey. Like American lives and breathes football.
