i am going to start a restaurant. is it better to register a company, then sign the lease with company name; or sign the lease in my own name?

do they make differences? which is better?

I'd put it in the "company" name. That way you can use all of it for tax write offs. And if something goes wrong.... it's business.

Register a company, for god's sake, and sign the lease under that name. If you use your personal name and the business ever goes belly-up, you could still be liable for owed rent. Protect yourself and your own assets. You should also check into tax advantages ... I believe there are better tax breaks for corporations compared to sole proprieterships.

If the company is a sole proprietorship then it doesn't matter which name the lease is in, you personally are still responsible for the lease.

Fir tax purposes its probably better to have it in the companies name.

You can sign it with your name then put dba (doing business as), then the name of your restaurant such as
John Doe dba The Eating Place
