I just started this new jobs 3 weeks ago and he winked at me yesterday. Usually when he is around me he never talks with me unless its necessary. Also, when everyone is around he talks with them and if we are left alone he walks away. Am I reading way to much into the wink or what?

There is nothing wrong with a wink. It can signal support or friendliness, especially from an older man.
A wink can say, "You are welcome here and I think you are doing a good job". It does not necessary say, "I want to jump you."
Don't read too much into it.

If he walks away when you are alone, it might be caution and respect.
Too many people sound alarms about sexual harassment at every opportunity. He's probably being safe.

If he walks up and grabs your azz, you have a problem.

If you begin to look for signs of harassment, you might start seeing things that are not there. A lot of kooks have ruined careers and families by reporting sexual harassment for dishonorable reasons.

Relax and be an adult and good employee.

Probably. It isn't used commonly anymore, but a wink used to convey much more than sexual suggestion. I worked with man, who had a great deadpan sense of humor, and he would frequently wink while telling a joke to let someone know he was just kidding. Another thing, the guy may have a tic of some sort. Unless you perceive that the manager in question makes suggestive comments or gestures toward you or another individual, I wouldn't worry about it. If you are hoping that he really had a deeper meaning, i.e. flirting with you, I would advise you to back off. Typically relationships with the boss go downhill fast.

It can mean so many things. It may be a momentary meaningless flirtatious "hello", he may like you enough to let you know, or he could be getting ready to make a move. Most likely, it is just a flirtatious wink, and you are reading way too much into it. Most managers are smart enough to know the limits.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you are presenting the wink out of context to us. We weren't there ya know.

If he strictly sticks to business around you, then I wouldn't give it a second thought.

As others say, it could have been a nervous tic or a joke or a shared acknowledgement. One minor incident like this does not make a sexual harrassment suit.

Oh for the love of all that's wholy, dude could have had a piece of dirt fly into his eye.
For goodness sakes keep it to yourself at work, it'd be a darn shame for a dude to lose his job over such a pathetic reason.
It happens every day.

HE COULD JUST BEING NICE TO YOU. PEOPLE HAVE DONE THAT TO ME, AND I DIDN'T THINK NO MORE OF IT. MAYBE YOU COULD COME OUT AND ASK HIM, BUT I THINK THAT IT WOULD BE KIND OF WIERD. HE IS YOUR MANAGER. REMEMBER ALSO THAT THE PERSON MIGHT BE MARRIED WITH KIDS. IF I WERE YOU I WOULD SEE IT AS HE IS JUST TRYING TO BE NICE. NOTHING MORE OR LESS.
