Do you think think the current hip hop artists and rappers will be remembered in 10 years time? Or will they be forgotten. I think the reason why classic rock and other classics have survived over the decades is because the music still has meaning and most of the worlds are easy to relate to. Do you think in 10years people will relate to the themes portryaed in hip hop and rap?

Hip Hop and Rap will most definetly be around 10 years from now. It's the voice of a generation that would have otherwise gone unheard were it not for that art of expression. The only people that have negative things to say about any genre of music are the ones who dont understand it. Remember, when Hip Hop first hit in the late 70's many said that it was just a passing craze and wouldnt last but a few years; i'ts 2007 now and Hip Hop is all over the world.

yes it will be remember because hip hop/rap is a classic gere unlike rock and metal which are meaningless and why do you think rap/hip hop is taking over the music industry and music channel like mtv b/c its by far the best genre there is besides jazz and r&b no doubt about it.

I certainly hope that hip/hop and rap go the way of disco VERY VERY SOON.

For all these rap artists (which is an oxymoron), I don't think they will be remembered at all. They're what's known to us 30-year-old fogeys as "a flash in the pan."

No way, hip hop of today is meaningless, commercialized garbage, with no message, and horrible lyrics. The old school hip hop will last forever, it will always be relevant because it dealt with things that plague our communities, then, today and in the future.
