Which one is more expensive, and which one is better?

The more watt. means the more better it is, right?

Both are too big for a 6 gallon tank. 50 watts is reccommended for 10 gallons minimum. If you use either of those 2 heaters your will more than likely cook your fish. Go and get yourself a 25 watt heater. They only run about $10-$15.

It really depends on the size of the tank your trying to heat up. Usually you want between 3-5 watts per gallon so the 50 watt heater is good for a 10gal tank and the 100 watt heater is good for a 20 gal tank. As for the price, the difference between the two will be about $1-2 so no big deal, just get the right size for your tank.

More watts is not necessarily better.

You want about 5 watts per gallon of water. I recommend using 2 smaller heaters totalling 5 watts per gallon.

This way if one heater fails in the on position it's not big enough to fry your tank, and if it fails in the off position the other heater will kick in to try and keep the temp stable.

this all depends on what size your tank is, if you have a 10 gallon tank I would go with a 50 watt and if you have a 55 gallon tank I would go with the 100 watt. these are sized for the size of your tank.

the rule is 5 watts / gallon
so ideally, you should have a 30w heater...

i guess a 50w will do if that's all you have. Just watch out for boiled fish.... why don't you get a 10 gallon tank and that'll make everybody happy.

wattage shows how much heat it gives off. 100 watt will give off more heat than the 50 and it depends what size the tank is to judge what wattage to use!
