Has anyone ever seen a gold nickel? I know coins can become discolored overtime but the nickel I'm talking about actually looked as if it was gold plated on purpose? where can I find info on this type of thing I have searched every coin site I can think...........

There were some nickels gold plated in 2005, you can find them on EBay.

If you live in NYC, there's a coin shop in Manhattan that has coins like that. I forgot exactly where it is, but I know it's in midtown, a street in the 50's...

it has probably been dipped in something.
look in ur yellow pages for a coin collector /appraiser and they should b able to help u when they see it.
