I think I'm a kind person for the most part but I loath possums and run them over when I get the chance. My friends tell me that only mean guys do this and that I as a woman should be more kind. How about it women? Tell me I'm not the only lady who does this.

The possum doesent know if its a man or female behind the wheel. :-) Its just a bigass piece of rubber and metal that kills em anyway rite? go for it if it makes you happy who cares what any-1 thinx.

as has been mentioned, the ring-tailed variety (In NZ especially) is a pest and should be killed any way it can be killed (except with poison), car,shovel, rifle, glue, traps, a big rock. The North American version is just a dirty smelly little pest, and I've wasted a few just for the hell of it - the last one for hogging the cat food and snarling at me when I noticed the theviery in progress. Can't say I've lost much sleep over giving him a buckshot shampoo while he was playing dead (great defense, that). But if one runs across the road I give him/her a chance to get out of the way.
Don't worry about your efforts making them into an endangered species, though. They'll eat ANYTHING. And I mean ANYTHING. And will survive to PISS ON the remnants of humankind.

Possums have the sensation of feeling just like any animal. They are one of the few marsupials we have here. The babies are born like kangaroos and crawl to their mom's pouch. The mother possum is loving and gentle with her babies.
So when you run them over, often you will be crushing the babies also.
How any person, male or female, can find pleasure in killing an innocent animal or child is beyond my range of thinking. But then sadly, it is done every day. I read about a man who liked to hang his son in the closet on a rack and hit him. He just liked doing it.
The child died one day in the closet.
If you are not sick, then what are you? I recommend you get some help for your urges of "kindness".

Well never having met a possum I cannot imagine killing it. I usually dont kill anything that is bigger than me or can run faster. But if they frighten the bejasus out of you then bash on cos I could murder any mouse you care to mention if I wasnt standing on a chair somewhere.

Everybody should be more kind, not just women. If what you're saying is true, you better hope nothing nasty ever happens to you, because you will feel what it means get hurt really bad, and I guarantee you will never say sh1t like this again. You would probably not find a more subtle,tranquil,peaceful animal in the night, as an opposum.You have got some major problematic issues within yourself ,if you have any desire to take the life of a defenseless creature,that is a big part of the natural
process of God ,and nature itself.
