The two people who posted ahead of me are right but they forgot to add that he spent some time going through drug rehab.
I used to love Phillip Michael Thomas even before Miami Vice when he starred opposite Irene Cara in Sparkle.

recently he has been doing voices for the Grand Theft Auto Series. other than that nothing big.
