I normally would reschedule, but I have had what I thought was a yeast infection for about a month that I really want to have checked out now. Has anyone else had their exam during your period? Will that affect any test results?

It is best to wait until your period has subsided.

Your gynecologist might be able to diagnose a yeast infection just from your description of your symptoms, but she'll probably want to do a pelvic so she can get a swab to run tests to double-check, and that can't really be done while you're having your period, unless your periods are really light. Your best bet is to see if you can reschedule for another date that's still soon--be sure to mention that you think you might have an infection, and you'll be more likely to get squeezed in earlier. Good luck!

Sweetie,i would reschedule for later in the week if possible or possibly the begining of next week such as Monday. However,it may be a good decision for you to go since you may have a yeast infection. It all comes down to you.I would wait until Tuesday morning and decide. If it is rather heavy, then i would wait. You can explain to the nurse answering your call and see what she suggests. That would probably be best, but i would wait til the morning of,and then call and speak to the nurse.Good luck hun,and have a good evening.

I honestly have 3 boys and that i keep in options anytime I first heard. I basically got here upon out we are pregnant lower back and went to work out my ob-gyn some weeks in the past. Even after dealing with this such an excellent type of cases I nonetheless turned right into somewhat teary-eyed. there is continuously a feeling of exhilaration and all of it looks actual at that factor. I keep in options feeling relieved also that the toddler become ok.

The doctor will reschedule you once he knows your on your period, but you need to tell them the problems you are having. Call the office and tell them what is going on. That would be the best thing to do.

no do not go. i used to work in a gyn clininc. if you have your period they will make you reschedule. you cant get your pap done becasue the blood is going to cover up your cyto cells so it will not be able to be read by the pathologist. you can call and see if you can get something for your infection though.

Reschedule and use an over the counter yeast treatment, if you haven't done so already.

Call the doctor on Monday and tell them what you told us. The nurse can help you decide because different doctors are different.
