If you're referring to Asian women in America, then the sad answer is most likely yes.

However, when it comes to women in Asian countries it's much harder to determine whether its due to western influence or a beauty ideal that has arisen inside the community on it's own.

Contrary to stereotypical beliefs due to ignorance, the Asian race has much more diversity than most people realize and yes, there are a lot of Asians that are born with double eyelids and it is considered a desirable trait.

It's like when a brown-eyed white woman wishes she had blue eyes. Does it make her any less/more "white"? No. Similarly, Asians in Asia don't neccessarily see "slanty" eyes as an "Asian" thing just because it's more common. I've met Asian siblings who have completely different shaped eyes despite being from the same parents.

However, I have heard that even Asian countries have been bombarded and brainwashed with images of "western beauty" for decades so it most likely does play a significant role.

you're saying you imagine Asian ladies are ideal with their organic eyes...yet you're speaking about the Asian ladies who've organic double eyelids or larger eyes. an excellent type of Asian ladies don't have that organic seem, so as that they warfare to tape it or do surgical procedure. i imagine it really is undesirable, yet i do not take care of the discrimination they experience.
