I am a store manager for a grocery chain. Coke and pepsi are competators, however I'm sure you've noticed that they usualy alternate thier sales with eachother week to week with most retail companies. They work with eachother to optimise sales while also bidding against eachother for the better holiday weeks like christmas and superbowls. They both know they cannot put the other out of business so they have found a mutual ground.

ps pepsi as of late has had the financial upper hand

Yes they are fierce competitors always outdoing each other for the almighty dollar from consumersCoca- Cola was originall ydesigned as a health drink then they veered into making soft drinks.

They are because obviously they represent the same industry> cater to the same type of customers>looks the same>costs the SAMe(that is a big one in terms of a economic view) because if one cost a little more than people would buy the other but they cost the same. Umm..that is all I can think of in terms of a economics.

Oh yes the are fierce competitors. Then again they are the two top, name brand, colas there are.

They are i like coca-cola better though. They've always been in competitions.
