Well if you are pregnant then what usually causes nausea (especially in the first trimester) are the extreme changes in hormonal levels. In the beginning of pregnancy, the body is preparing itself to accomodate the growing fetus. In fact the fetus grows most rapidly at the earliest stages. That is why it is important for you to avoid taking medications or exposing yourself to harmful things like smoking, alcohol, drugs etc. Morning sickness (sometimes all day sickness) can be linked to light headedness/fainting and headaches. You may also feel a lot of fatigue and can also become dehydrated if you vomit excessively. The best way to alleviate it is to avoid allowing your stomach to get empty. Snack on crackers, fruit, or anything that you can tolerate throughout the day. I keep crackers by my bed too because sometimes I used to wake up feeling nauseated because my stomach was so empty through the night. Drink water and as much fluids as possible. But the best thing is to rest in those first few weeks. Every pregnancy is different but in most classical cases, the morning sickness and fatigue will ease off after the first 12 weeks. Get plenty of rest and try to eat well and also stay physically active throughout the day. Some people believe that you should take it easy while pregnant but for me personally, I have to keep myself going in order to feel well. In fact I feel worse if I just sit and it is important to move around and continue to do everyday activities(this is my second pregnancy). Being fit will also help you to have a better labor. Best of luck and take care.
