If your wrist hurts, see a hand specialist. If it's a little thing, keywaord search ergonomic solutions. You can get all kinds of things to help...up to and including a foot mouse.

Learn to mouse with the opposite hand. If left handed learn to mouse with the right hand. If right handed, learn to mouse with the left hand. Make a big thing out of switching the mouse to the other side on the first day of every month. This will give your wrist time to heal on each side.

If you have proper wrist support on your mouse mat then is shouldn't.

Having said that I tend to get more finger than wrist problems myself.

At work, where I use conventional mice, I am constantly moving between 4 mice so my wrist doesn't get stick in one place.

At home however I use a laptop with a mouse pad, so am constantly using my finger to navigate.

I have had a lot of wrist pain at various jobs that required me to be at a computer the majority of the time. Average computer equipment in an office is not setup ergonomically and peripherals like keyboards and mice are just not designed for hours and hours of use in a row!

go to the store and get a tracker ball. it is formed like a mouse, has a ball you roll aound with your fingertips instead of moving a mouse around the desk. still has the left and right buttons. its a blessing for those tired wrists.

Get a laptop! They're way better! But no, I haven't been on much today until now. But I'll probably wind up with Carpal Tunnel from all the time I spend typing.

Yes, it does, but part of that could be the carpel tunnel in my wrist, and it hurts like it got hit with a hammer, at times.

You know, some people develop problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome from using a darn computer.

I get back pains 'cause I slouch too much in front of the computer screen.
