The better the school the better it looks for you...however, if you maitain high marks and good citizenship throughout...it looks good throughout...doing well on your Act or SAT is a major bonus

If you come from a tiny school with no other talent, programs, awards, etc. admissions officers will look at your application and say, "looks like this kid got tired of the farm" and then they'll move on. Even if you end up valedictorian, they'll think the crowd you beat out wasn't that hard to beat. If you get the chance to pick look at schools with higher graduation rates, higher college acceptance rates, teachers with degrees (bachelors are usually required, masters are a plus), more programs you can join to make your application "pop", and recognition of some kind.

It doesn't matter what high school you graduate from either having an average of 4 or 7-What matters is what you do during your highschool years-from being part of clubs/commitees/tests/exams/grades/SAT/ACTS/TAAS etc-not the school itself.

Just worry about the GPA you keep in high school. That, along with standardized test scores, is what colleges look at.

My cousin had a choice to go to a school that had low test scores or go to a really good highschool.....she chose the really good one, because the students actually cared and wanted to learn, and the teaches were amazing...maybe the lower test score school doesnt have the right teachers or students in it.... You should check up and ask around your town....

i'm not sure if colleges have high school biases...but I believe most of them look at you individually...at your grade points, etc not at the school as a whole.
