Ok, I have a mp3 player phone. I can upload my own mp3s and what not, but i can't use the mp3 as ringtones. The only way is that they have to clips of the songs. So I'd like to know, where and what programs are the best to use to cut and edit my mp3s so that i can use them as ringtones??? FREE program downloads would be GREAT!

Hi,

The easiest way I have found to put files on a phone (including ringtones, wallpapers screensavers etc) is using Create Ringtone. You send files to your mobile phone by Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) or using Bluetooth infrared or wired connection. It has a 15 day trial (I am not associated with this software). It is alot easier than using cables.

I'd go with a program called Audacity. It's totally free (source code / price) and will do the job. You will need the Lame Encoder as well to save the MP3 files.

I'm using Cool Edit 2000 Editor. You can also use Adobe Audition 2.

There also a lot of mp3 editor free downloads. Just google "mp3 editor" or "audio editor".
