Is it required to file the actual paperwork to start a business to be able to open a business bank account.

Do banks actually verify that the name of the business you are using to open the account actually exists and/or is registered to you?

As far as I know in the state I am in, Banks don't require proof of the business, but why would you be willing to pay for a business account and the added expenses? You may start a business and name it anything you want, but if you are thinking of using a business name to do something illegal or deceptive, I feel you should forget it. There are laws and regulations regarding business and this also may vary for different states. Consult a CPA for valid information.
