Naturally, traveling to another country would be expensive. Hell, traveling to another state in the U.S. when you already live there can be too. Especially if you don't know how to choose where you spend and what you buy wisely.

Why take your dogs if you're not moving there? It's a lot of paperwork, you would have to find a special area to keep them in, and it's more hassle than its worth. Leave the dogs at home.

You can buy shiba dogs in America. I don't see why you need to try and get one from Japan. Just go here and you can probably find a breeder to buy from (though with three dogs already, you don't really need *another* one): http://www.shibas.org/

Unless you uncover a wormhole in your backyard that leads to a never-ending supply of oil, there's no way a fourteen-year-old can raise enough money to travel to Japan, stay in Japan (with her dogs), buy another dog in Japan, and bring it all back home.

First, don't take your dogs. They will be put in quarantine immediately for several weeks at your expense, even if they have all their shots. Also, living spaces in Japan are TINY, and there is no room for someone else's dogs. Hotels will not allow dogs, nor will the trains. Better to board your pets until you get back.

Buying a dog in Japan is also a problem, as the dog will be quarantined when you bring it back into the States... again, at your expense. Get a dog from a shiba inu breeder here. Let the breeder pay the expense of importing the dogs, and get one of the puppies.

I have heard rumors of an Asian airline offering under $100 flights to some destinations in the Orient, but it may well be a rumor. I would watch the airlines like a hawk to find their best fares. Look for sales! Usually it's $400-$1000 to fly to Japan, depending on which airline and how far out you book your flights. I just flew my son back and forth to Okinawa, and it cost us $1500 r/t.

How can you earn money? Well, I suggest you find your best airline fares, get an adult to pay for it on their credit card, and then work like crazy at odd jobs and however you can to pay for it. Get a paper route, babysit, mow lawns, sell stuff at garage sales... be creative! You have a goal to travel to Japan to work for, that's a great incentive!

Have fun!

My suggestion for you would be to not bring your dogs along because it's gonna be expensive for you to bring dogs along and facilities may not be easily available.

However, if you wanna spend less money when travelling to japan, i would suggest to you to stay in hostels or ryokans.
Staying in hotels is gonna be expensive unless you can find a good deal at your local travel agency.
I only had to pay US$910 for my trip to Tokyo with Japan Airlines plus 8 days and 7 nights at a hotel located at Ikebukuro.
It was really a bargain for me.
Also, if you stay in hostels or ryokans, you might have to spend more on transportation because these hostels and ryokans are not centrally located, so in order to visit the sights, you'll have to spend more on transport. So be prepared.
Check out the website below for more details, this website even has information for budget travelers.
Also, do research on the places that you would like to visit, so you can calculate how much you will have to spend when in Japan.
It's best if you stay in one city only in this trip, then you'll get a better view of the city rather than hopping all over Japan.
