Just took it out after storing it for a couple years. Well, now there is a white crustiness inside. I soaked it in some water with baking soda in it but it didnt do a thing. What is it and do u have any ideas how to remove it?

Run it through a cycle using a 50 / 50 mix of vinegar, and water. After this you will need to run / boil one more cycle of just water. (for taste purposes) If this does not work, try CLR you can purchase it at most any retailer Lowes, home depot, wal mart, k-mart etc. Again it will need to be thoroughly rinsed if you must use the CLR remover.(Calcium Lime & Rust)

That would depend on what it is made of, where exactly it has been stored, what it has been stored with, and the conditions it has been stored in.

Could just be a salt build up if it has been in a damp environment close to anything salt based, in fact it could just be accumulated deposits from repeatedly getting damp then drying out.

Also, you say soaked, have you tried boiling a water/vinegar mixture in it, and then rubbing it with a cloth.

This will take off many undesirable coatings.
