Yes I would encourage my wife to work, especially if she wants to. I have nothing against women working outside the home. I also am encouraging her to go to school, she's been going to school to get her degree in criminal justice.
There is nothing wrong with women working, this is the 21st. Century, I don't see the problem with wives working, especially in today's economy when it seems like you need 2 incomes to make it anymore.

I will get slack for this -
My wife wants to stay home and raise the kids but I have been unable to gain that job where I can provide for the family.
She doesn't mind work but her schedule makes it difficult for both of us and our kids. We make due.
I believe the family functions better where the mother can stay home and give attention to the children they need. Mothers are special and should be able to raise their children, not day care or school.

If she has kids, it is ideal for her to stay home full time.
