I am a disabled person, and I am living and sleeping in a bedroom, in which there is no room for a wheelchair. I have to be carried to the toilet by my husband. I sleep alone everynight, as there is no room for a double bed. The Social Services, and the Planning Department have refused to extend the room. Where can I go for help?

Speak to your local housing dept if you are a council/ ha tenant, also appeal against the social services desicion half the time they refuse hoping you will go away you have a good chance on appeal it can be lenghy process but worth it in the end also get your hubby to speak to your doctor who should kindly right a letter, get your hubby to tell a few fibs- back complaints etc, you shouldnt have to live like that, im also a carrer for my hubby and disabled people get a raw deal from these departments so definitly appeal, good luck

You might want to contact a lawyer...or human services. Sounds like this is going against the Disability acts. There is no reason why you should not be able to get yourself in and out of your own room. I am sorry you are unable to have the simple freedoms in life...in this case you may have to fight for them. If you were in Ontario, I could give you more specific information, but the programs and services that are available vary from one jurisdiction to the next.
Also, if you have a March of Dimes in your area, they may be of some assistance to you.
Don't give up on this one. You deserve much, much better than what you have.

Which country are you in?
If you are here in the Uk then complain to the local government onbudsman and then go to the press.
If you are in another country then my only guess is you shoudl go to the press and see if they are interested.
