Try to keep your body relaxed and remember to breath.
It will actually help to practice the above, and to practice your speech over and over to yourself so it becomes almost automatic and you don't have to use your whole brain for it so you'll have a little brain power left to make yourself relax and breath.
This is totally normal. Many people fear public speaking more than they fear death.
If you keep your body relaxed and you keep breathing, it will make you look more at ease. Remember that the people in the audience can't see how you feel, they can only see your body.
If it gets really bad, remember that most of those folks out there would also be nervous if they were up front and they are wanting you to succeed. When I am in an audience and I can see that the speaker if very nervous I always try to wish them strength and calm to get through it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does that.

Stacey This is very normal Some of the things that can help you is the following:
Take a deep breath and breath out about 5 times just befor e you go to the front of the room. Look at something in the back of the room at above the level of the audience . They will think you are looking at them and then that wont get you nervous

Practice at home in front of a mirror or your siblings/ parents.
Also, picture yourself giving the talk in front of the class. Picture yourself being a success and the talk going really well. This will help you a lot.
Also, stop practicing about 1 hour before you go to sleep the night before.
A little bit of nerves is okay. It will help you to stay prepared and remember your speech.

Okay....you feel nervous...that's healthy!!!! Just go in the classroom and get on with it!!! Your best bet is to look at the top of people's heads. Keep in mind that this is only your fellow classmates....not the President or something. Your teacher will be looking for qualities like ...looking around the room....strong voice....and confidence. Even if you don't feel confident...act like you are. Remember to make your eyes move around the room...this way it won't look like you are looking only at your paper. You can do this!!!!

Practice your speech at home. First practice in the mirror, then with a pet, then in front of family members. Remember that everyone is nervous, and they all want you to do well. I tell my students that they can just look at me if they don't want to make eye contact with the other students. Also, try looking just above their heads or at their foreheads. The "illusion" of eye contact is very important.

I always had the same problem. My best suggestions. Practice the speech at home until you practically know it by heart. Look just above the heads of everyone in the room, looking at their faces just reminds you they are listening. Also, keep in mind most of them are just as nervous about their speeking in front of the class as you are.

Know your subject inside and out...Speak loudly and avoid eye contact, look at something on the wall at the back of the room. Take deep breaths and take your time.

Look straight ahead, not at the students, but at the wall behind them. It will look like you are looking at them, but you are not really. You could also try thinking of your favourite song as you present the report. I hope this helps!

I get nervous all the time but I tell myself that if I just begin, then everything will flow. Before you know it, you're done. But practice before making your speech. Then you'll be more comfortable reading and make less mistakes.
