To paraphrase Chris Rock, the Cardinals have a better chance winning the Bronze medal in female gymnastics than repeating as World Series Champions.

...and with their horrible regular season performance, they didn't deserve it in 2006 either. With the NL Central no longer looking like the wasteland of the Major Leagues, the Cards will be lucky to finish third (which, incidentally, is the highest they would have finished in any other division other than the NL Central in 2006 with their record....just look at the standings).

I do not see the Cardinals repeating their World Series Championship since I see the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series in 2007.

It's hard to repeat. The white sox won 90 games and did not make the playoffs. If the National league central gets stronger, 90 games will not make the playoffs as in the a.l. central. It's looking like the cubs are paying for some talent and Milwaukee too. The Astros are always up there as well.

I doubt the Cards will make it again as a repeat, because there are 2 teams that return most of their starters....It has to be between the Tigers and the Twins.....They both have the powerful lineups (young and powerful) and they both were ranked in the top 5 for their defensive efforts(besides the world series where the tigers choked with errors).

No, they barely got there this year and look worse off in 2007 than 2006. Playoffs:probably - WS: maybe - World Series Champions: in 2006 - World Series Repeat Champions: I doubt it

No, the Cardinals won't repeat, though they will make another strong run at the title. But there is one team to stop them--the Mets. No, I'm not a Mets fan, but you have to be honest--they have a stacked lineup. Power hitting, power pitching. They wil be the reason why the Cardinals won't repeat this year.

Are you kidding... Edmonds is turning 50 soon, they made no serious upgrades in their roster during this offseason, and they barely finished at .500. They are also losing some of their starting pitchers, who were mediocre to begin with... so unless Anthony Reyes has a 2.00 ERA with 300 strikeouts, your team ain't going nowhere. Not even to mention the fact that the Cubs made massive improvements.

No they won't... Playoffs? yes. NLCS? Maybe. World Series? Really doubt it.

The Mets, Yankees, Dodgers, A's, Tigers and Red Sox are all better than the Cardinals right now.

They lost too many pitchers in the off-season. They will finish 2ND to the Cubs in the Central!!!!
