I'm a big fan of real madrid but their performance this season (or shall i say the last three season) is just..unbelievably awful.
I agree 100% with what Holden said in his answer.
in the beginning of this season most people had hope in Capello & trusted that he's the coach that will bring back the titles to Real Madrid but their hopes is gone! he started very good & he said he needs time to fix this team but i still think that Capello will improve the team (hopefully)
but no one can deny that the team is better from the last three seasons, yeah they lost two matches in a row (0-3) & (2-0) but this is a game every team loses. they cant both win..
& i also think that he's suppose to give Ronaldo the time to proves himself.. They want Ronaldo to score but how can he do that if he's not playing??? Capello only let him in the match when Real Madrid is losing,, they dont give him confidence then how would he believe in himself???
if you dont agree with me just look back at when Ronaldo was in Inter Milan, The president of Inter told the coach to bench Ronaldo because he didnt score for 8 or 9 games but the coach said Ronaldo wont regain his level or performance on the bench. in the next match he scored the wining goal for inter! and he went through the same injury in inter milan, everyone said that Ronaldo is over even if he played but he wont be like before BUT he became even better!!
another thing, i think that Raul still can play as before only if they put him in the right place that he's used to play, as a striker but now he plays in midfield trying to help Ruudvan to score..
Anyway if i keep talking this wont end because i will talk about every player =P
oh only one thing>> Beckham need to GO. it didnt make a difference if he's playing or not. when he plays he seems so lost.. yesterday i wished he will at least proves us wrong but thats it. he didnt make anything..maybe he tried but..???
No matter what happen even if Real didnt win any title for the next 50 years i will support them till the end! & i mean it.

They're in a very bad fix right now. And by the looks of it nothing worked after everything that they have done. However, I can pinpoint the start of their underachievement and here are the events that have lead to their demise:
1. Real sacked Del Bosque because of a very shallow reason that they were eliminated in the CL even if they won the Liga under him.
2. Hierro left
3. Makelele left
4. Real focused too much on their offensive lineup by...
...buying Ronaldo and...
5. Buying Beckham and not replacing the void left by Hierro and Makelele.
6. Raul suffered appendicitis and had an operation (when he returned Raul's magic was gone! Really!)
7. Real lost the Copa del Rey which was Beckham's big time debut where he scored but unlucky Real lost.
This was the last appearance of Real on a Big tournament and somewhow it brought a curse on them.
The rest... is historeeee!!! Every move they make produced negative effects.
And right now I cannot see a remedy anymore. Because what I thought as a solution (which they did) didn't improve the club.

They are a bunch of superstars that can't play well together. In paper, Real is the best team in the world right now. All those so called stupid players are the best that money can buy. Capello also has done great things to the teams he has coached. All that they need now is the heart to play real football and forget all the egos at home.

latly it seems playing for real madrid (or coaching them) is a curse. they have so many good players yet not a single trophy in the last three seasons. Gago is an amazing playing and the future of Argentina but again depor he looked like a school boy among men. Cannavaro was amazing in the world cup but playing for real madrid he is awful i have seen him get beat more than any defender. No mattter what the coach does he gets yelled at by media. half the team hates the coach and the other half hate each other. real madrid need to do some serious remodling to have any kind of succesful season or future...... GOOOO BARRRCCAAA

all i know is that nothing clicked v. deportivo today. cannavaro botched the job (as usual), beckham looked lost, ronaldo was disinterested, salgado showed his age, gago was tentative, ramos was a non-factor, rvn didn't even come close to scoring. etc. capello made some changes in midfield later in the 2nd half but it was too late to have any impact. good thing arizmendi was unlucky, otherwise it would have been a rout. 5-0 at least. overall, real looked like a team ready to lose from kickoff.

LMAO I couldn't agree more with you. Their disaster started when the previous club president dreaming of Galacticos, with star players gathered and play together. Well the reason for him to do that not to win more cups but to gain more revenue of jersey's selling and adv. It took just few months to change the Galacticos into Plasticos wasn't it.
But just in few months his dream was shattered, those star players he gathered more played like amateur more than professionals. Then Hierro left and the defenders started to loose their capability, they need a leader. When Canna come, lots people were expecting he could replace Hierro. Just look how he's outplayed over and over against Lyon. Disappointing performance from world class player. But well you can't expect players to play stable all the time though I defenitely think Steve Finnan do that yet nobody pay attention and pay a tribute.

a team with all the talent in the world but just can't put it together. They spent way too much money on Gago who played awful today against Deportivo. If they were to play together (Barca, Man Utd) they would be the best team in the world. I think theres too much change going on, it seems every minute they have a new player or coach.

Real Madrid CF are no longer the team that everyone fears, they are really struggling in the league & another years of disappointment would see Fabio Capello leaving the club.

They believe that only with the jersey (the fame) can win. It's a name's team, not a player's team. Now Barcelona is 100% best. Regards!

the problem with real madrid is that they have great players but they fail to prove themselves and play well!
