It is different with every woman. Some won't feel any contractions until the real thing but others (like Me) will start to feel braxton hicks as early as 20 weeks. You will possibly lose your mucous plug a few days before delivery. Some women get diarhea or nausea the day of delivery. Others don't feel a thing or experience any symptoms and their labor starts all at once.

First off you will begin to lose your mucus plug. It is a really thick clear looking slime. :) Sometimes you lose it all at once but usually it comes out a little at a time. Sometimes a lot, sometimes just a little bit. That happens a week or two before you go into labor.
Back pain is another sign your going to go into labor. I'm not talking about just a little achy feeling. I mean your back really hurts you bad.
Contractions usually don't come on all at once. They grow pain wise. It starts with a little pain and increases slowly. It is a pain that you have never felt before. You won't be confused if it is contractions or not. Trust me.
The only way I can describe a contraction is that if you have ever felt pain in your stomach when you had to go diarrhea really bad. That is what a contraction is like. But it gets worse.
Now a days most women's water doesn't break until they are at the hospital or the doctor will break the water.
But in the event your water breaks, Hard contractions usually occur right after that so be prepared.
If your water breaks, go to the hospital right away.
If your just having contractions, then time them and see how far apart they are. The hospital wants them to be around 5 minutes apart before you come in. But if you can't handle the pain, then you can go in.
I hope I have helped.

I hate the "you'll comprehend once you're in not hassle-free artwork" solutions. i did not have any indicators in the previous I went into not hassle-free artwork with my second toddler. I stood up and my water broke. i do not comprehend if I were having contractions in the previous that or no longer. I did commence feeling contractions shortly after my water broke and my son become born an hour and 40-5 minutes later. i become triggered with my first toddler with pitocin. For the first 3 or 4 hours I in consumer-friendly words said the contractions because i might want to work out them on the reveal screen. i don't believe of that i might want to have said them if i might want to been at homestead. So do be prepared. you received't have any caution that not hassle-free artwork is about to commence. good success.

Each pregnancy is different. You may or may not have any signs. On my last pregnancy I only felt constipated. I went to go get checked out because I didn't feel right. I had my son 2 and 1/2 hours later with no hard contractions.

With my daughter I had really bad back pain. It felt like someone was jumping on my back.

You can watch for your mucus plug. It will fall out anytime. My doctor told me that mine fell out and i didn't even know what he was talking about. He told me that it looks like snot. Gross right but its true. When you loose that get ready for your little bundle. I lost mine and i believe it was like a day later i seen that i was spotting and come to find out i was in labor. But the contractions didn't start until i got to the hospital (they where faint) and then the doctor broke my water and OOOOHHHHHHH my gosh I wanted all the drugs i could get!!
So just look for the MUCUS PLUG!

We are all different but you can expect some pressure, an uncomfortable feeling and then these contractions that are mild to begin with but get stronger. Usually the better shape you are in the easier it will be. Be sure to take good care of yourself during and after, it pays off.
