Is it true that hamsters can survive - and even enjoy - being placed into a microwave? I have heard from 2 people that a great way to dry a hamster after bathing it, is to place it in a microwave for 3 minutes on defrost. I dont want to harm my hamster in any way, but if little Snuggles would enjoy a quick warm up in the micro then I dont see the problem... has anyone tried this?

You can't put your hamster in a microwave. It could really hurt them (the radiation). In fact, you're not supposed to bathe your hamster at all. They clean themselves on their own. If giving them a bath is really necessary (for some reason), then be very careful and use a little bit of water because giving hamsters a bath is dangerous.

OMG, you cannot be serious.
No, you cannot put your hamster, or any other living creature, into a microwave oven. Three minutes will fry its skin, melt its brain tissue, and boil its blood.

don't do that. are you crazy? after a bath just dry it off with a warm towel. putting it in the microwave is absurd!

I don't know who told you this, but they have misinformed you. Even a few seconds in the microwave can severly injure or kill your hamster. DON'T DO IT.

Ok #1 you shouldnt bathe your hampster.It killed mine.He got so cold after his bath and my towel couldnt warm him up he died#2 NOOOOOO!!! thats CRAZY!who in the world told you that?thats like a snail would like to eat SALT!
