at school i had to do a family tree (which im done with) and now i have to do give them the trait of uneven ears
-this is how it goes

below is a complete listing of the people in this pedigree who have the trait of uneven ears. indicate on each of your charts the people who have the trait by coloring them in. put a key on the front of the chart to show what your trait is
you must now determine for each person on the chart that the genes are for this trait. write the genotype above the person's name.

I just did these type of proble for 3 months so I remember a lot and my major is Genetics so here we go:

Phenotype: people with uneven ears
People with normal amount of ears
So, phenotype is the description of the trait.

Genotype: is what we write in terms of "alleles" ...
Assume that having uneven ears is a recessive trait meaning you can write the Genotype as (ee)

Having normal ears is (EE)
Carrying the trait but not expressing it is (Ee).
So ee
EE
Ee
Are the 3 genotypes..now assign people with uneven ears ee
People with normal ears EE
And people who are carriers(meaning Ee) that they carry the little e..but since they do not have 2 of them they do not have uneven ears but they carry the "e" and can pass it on.
