My partner of 4 years and I have been thinking of names for ages. We want at least 2 kids so here are the names we have thought of.

Boys:
Edward - Alexander
Alexander - Cheval (Shev-Al)

Girls:
Ayla (Ai-Lah) - Rose
Elizabeth May

Last name would be Simon. Pick your favorites or give us some more suggestions.

Just because i say partner doesn't mean i'm gay. AND IM NOT. It just means that me and my bf are not married yet.

Ayla Rose is gorgeous! Did you get that from the Clan of the Cave Bear books? You obviously like the name Alexander, how about Alexander Kai? If not, Alexander Cheval is good : )

Ok, no need to explain about your relationship. Men gay or other wise can't have babies.
Anyhow, I think those are great names. I like the Alexander Cheval, it's different and you would get a very bright tough little boy, also he would be very charming and adorable.
Now the girl's I'd have to go with Elizabeth May, because it's biblical, and May is the month of Mother's day. That name would represent a rosey cheeked, country, sweetheart who would be probably a nurse or secretary.

Many people don't realize that names give a child the start of their personality, and lay the foundation for the kind of person they will become. I've actually discovered this.
Just think of the many Jason's you know, most are cocky and arrogant, most Micheals you know are smart, AND MOST DEREKS YOU KNOW ARE SPORT LOVERS.(sorry cap lock was down.) So those names with the Simon as a last name, that is the type of poeple I would invision.

I like Alexander, Edward makes me think of horse faced, inbred English royalty but that's probably just me. He'll wind up Ed or Eddie or Alex. Cheval is ok for a middle name, it'll be turned to Shovelface if he's homely.
Definitions of Cheval on the Web:
* Obstacles, mostly in field fortifications, consisting of a long wooden shaft from which smaller diameter, metal-shod or sharpened staves project radially; any two of which act as legs.
* French for Split bet.
Mmm'kay well I'm sure he'll be proudly tellin his teenaged friends he was named after a "long wooden shaft" for a very specific reason... hopefully he'll be able to back that one up..

Ayla... I first read that as Aaliyah, like the hip hop singer who died. It's cute, different but not painfully cutesy or difficult to figure out how to pronounce.

Simon brings to mind either Simon Cowell or a bespectacled bookworm who gets pushed around a lot by the jocks in school.

Are these names family names at all? I'm a bit of a traditionalist, as well as a good southern girl (we like family names, I'm named for both grandmothers), but I also like names with a good meaning. Edward Alexander and Elizabeth May are both good names with good, significant meanings. This might be my favorite part of having children, the naming is so much fun!
