Yahoo! Answers was made so that people who have questions can get answers from other people that would be hard to find the answer for elsewhere. For example, if someone wanted to find out which kind of mp3 player is the best, and they had 2 different ones to compare from, they wouldn't just be able to go on the internet and search for it on Google or Yahoo!. They would come to Yahoo! Answers to ask their question.

I saw the CEO of Yahoo on Wall Street Week and he says that answers is the beginning of a search engine to compete with google . 65 million answers you can search already. I'm thinking hes not paying much attention to a lot of the ignorant crap that gets posted on here.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I am usually pleasantly surprised at how bright many people are on yq&a.
I do know that a study has been done proving that the more time people spend on sites like this the lonelier they are.
Sad, really.

The diversity of opinions and answers can be fascinating to read at times. Every once in a while, you truly get to help someone who needs it.

Maybe you and Shredder should get together and consult on the subject. Everyone else seems to be fine with being here. Good Luck.
